Spark Program Illuminates Sucafina’s Future

We’re preparing the next generation of leaders through Sucafina’s Spark program. The Spark program is a leadership development program that prepares high-potential employees with management and leadership skills to help them take on new challenges. By developing talent internally across our origin and destination offices, Sucafina is building internal capacity and adding value for all our stakeholders and partners.

Learners in the Spark program are offered a differentiated career development path. Over the 3-year program, they have access to the newest material of online training from Harvard Business School. They also receive one-on-one mentorship and coaching with highly qualified coaches. Throughout the course, learners will discuss advanced case studies, receive quarterly feedback and conduct additional assignments that give them a 360-degree view on the business. Overall, Spark participants gain management and soft skills that prepare them for a future in management positions at Sucafina and beyond.

Twenty-eight Sucafina employees have enrolled in or graduated the program since it was founded in 2015. And Sucafina doesn’t stop there. Our other educational opportunities include Talent Club, a 2-year program focused on advancing employee skills, and Sucafina Academy, an East-Africa-based educational program employing university students in local offices. In total, more than 75 employees are enrolled in these professional development programs. Participants and graduates of Spark and our other programs are helping propel Sucafina into the future and enabling us to provide excellent service and add value across the supply chain
